Kit Chan enthralls at Spellbound concert in Singapore

At her first local concert in four years, Chan reveals that she had the "frightening" experience of thinking should could never sing again, after vocal cord surgery less than a year ago.\

 

SINGAPORE: It has been about four years since Kit Chan's last concert in Singapore, and on Friday night (Jun 12) at The Star Theatre, the songstress reminded fans that nothing has changed - not her technical prowess, nor her consummate showmanship.

This was all the more impressive, considering she underwent surgery on her vocal cords just months ago. "Less than a year ago, I thought I could not sing anymore. I underwent a surgical procedure that left me barely able to speak," Chan revealed, towards the end of her gig.

G-Dragon art exhibition opens in Seoul

The PEACE MINUS ONE art exhibition contains artworks made by contemporary artists in collaboration with the K-pop star, and will travel to Shanghai as well as Singapore after its run in Seoul.

SEOUL: The PEACE MINUS ONE art exhibition, the result of a collaboration between K-pop boy band BIGBANG’s G-Dragon and contemporary artists, recently opened at the Seoul Museum of Art.
A total of 14 teams of artists from South Korea and around the world were commissioned to work with G-Dragon to create artworks which they feel reflected his world. About 200 pieces of art will be on display at the exhibition.

Michael Keaton: It's all about me


Kristen Stewart picked up the prize for best supporting actress at the Film Critics Circle Awards. She won the award for her role in Clouds of Sils Maria.
21-year-old Saoirse Ronan scooped Best Actress following her performance in Brookyln.
Birdman star Michael Keaton was awarded Best Actor for his role in Spotlight.
The 81st New York Film Critics Circle Awards took place on Monday night.
